汪懋华院士:中国农业工程学科的学术带头人

今天是汪懋华院士逝世一周年的日子，谨以此文致敬缅怀。汪懋华院士是我国农业电气化与自动化学科奠基人、精准农业研究开拓者。他深耕农业现代化研究数十年，创建首个农业高校自动化实验室，研制国内首台微机孵化机控制器，牵头建立教育部重点实验室，推动我国农业工程学科跨越式发展，并荣获多项国际国内终身成就奖。

汪懋华（1932 年 11 月 11 日－2025 年 2 月 28 日），广东兴宁人。1956 年毕业于北京农业机械化学院（中国农业大学）农业机械系，1962 年获莫斯科农业机械化与电气化学院技术科学副博士学位。曾任中国农业大学教授、副校长。1995 年当选中国工程院院士，2007 年当选国际欧亚科学院院士。
汪懋华长期从事农业现代化研究。1978 年，主持创建我国农业院校首个自动化研究室；1988 年，带领团队研制成功我国第一台微机孵化机控制器。20 世纪 90 年代，在国内率先开展精准农业智能信息技术研究。
1995—2006 年，主持中国工程院重大咨询项目《中国农业机械化发展战略研究》，并牵头建设现代精准农业系统集成研究教育部重点实验室。2004 年、2018 年两度担任国际农业与生物系统工程学会（CIGR）学术会议主席；2006 年获国际农业工程学会会士（Fellow）称号；2013 年荣获中国农业机械发展终身荣誉奖；2024 年获CIGR 终身成就奖。
2025 年 2 月 28 日在北京逝世，享年 93 岁。

20 世纪 70 年代初，电子技术迎来突破发展，汪懋华敏锐洞察到信息技术驱动的新一轮科技革命到来。1978 年，在他推动下，北京农业机械化学院成立自动化研究室，成为全国农业高等院校首个自动化实验室。
我国“精准农业”研究开拓者
20 世纪 90 年代中期，立足国际农业工程发展趋势，汪懋华带领团队将学科发展方向定位于全新的精准农业智能信息技术与系统集成研究领域。
他是国内首位传播精准农业理念的学者，系统介绍发达国家相关工程技术与系统集成的快速发展成果，推动并直接参与我国早期精准农业应用示范，率先开展关键技术研发。2000 年，现代精准农业系统集成研究教育部重点实验室在中国农业大学成立，汪懋华任学术委员会主任。同年，他直接参与北京小汤山精准农业示范园区的规划与建设。

Wang Maohua (November 11, 1932 – February 28, 2025), a native of Xingning County, Guangdong Province, graduated from the Department of Agricultural Machinery at Beijing Agricultural Mechanization College in 1956 and received his Candidate of Technical Sciences degree from the Moscow Institute of Agricultural Mechanization and Electrification in 1962. He was a former professor and vice president of China Agricultural University . He was elected an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering in 1995 and an Academician of the International Eurasian Academy of Sciences in 2007.
Wang Maohua was long engaged in research on agricultural modernization. In 1978, he presided over the establishment of the first automation research laboratory in a Chinese agricultural university. In 1988, he led a team to successfully develop China's first microcomputer incubator controller. In the 1990s, he pioneered research on intelligent information technology for Precision Agriculture.
From 1995 to 2006, he presided over the major consultancy project of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Research on the Development Strategy of Agricultural Mechanization in China, and established the Key Laboratory of Modern Precision Agriculture System Integration Research, Ministry of Education. He served as the Chairman of the Academic Conference of the International Commission of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (CIGR) in 2004 and 2018. He was awarded the title of Fellow of the International Society for Agricultural Engineering in 2006. In 2013, he received the Lifetime Honorary Award for Agricultural Machinery Development in China, and in 2024, he was awarded the CIGR Lifetime Achievement Award.
He passed away in Beijing on February 28, 2025, at the age of 93.
Founder of the Agricultural Electrification and Automation discipline
In the early 1970s, with the breakthrough development of electronic technology, Wang Maohua keenly realized the arrival of a new technological revolution driven by information technology. In 1978, through Wang Maohua's efforts, the Beijing Agricultural Mechanization College established an Automation Research Office, which was the first automation laboratory in Chinese agricultural higher education institutions.
Pioneer of "Precision Agriculture" Research
In the mid-1990s, based on international trends in agricultural engineering development, Wang Maohua led his team to position the discipline's development direction in the entirely new field of intelligent information technology and system integration research for "Precision Agriculture."
He was the first in China to disseminate this technological concept, scientifically introduced the research progress of rapidly developing related engineering technologies and system integration technologies in developed countries, and promoted and directly participated in organizing the early practical application demonstrations of Precision Agriculture in China. He took the lead in carrying out related research and development work. In 2000, the "Key Laboratory of Modern Precision Agriculture System Integration Research, Ministry of Education" was established at China Agricultural University, with Wang Maohua serving as the Chairman of its Academic Committee. In 2000, Wang Maohua directly participated in the planning and construction of the Beijing Xiaotangshan Precision Agriculture Demonstration Park.
