Punjab, Chinese investors agreed to cooperation in livestock, agriculture sectors

周五，旁遮普省规划与发展委员会及中国商业论坛代表在拉合尔举行会议，就畜牧、农业及食品深加工领域的投资机遇展开洽谈。

本次会议由旁遮普省畜牧与乳制品发展部部长赛义德·阿希克·侯赛因·基尔曼尼主持，重点围绕推进双边合作、现代技术转让、供应链管理及农产品增值升级展开交流。

基尔曼尼表示，旁遮普省政府正为外国投资商营造良好营商环境，并采取务实举措推动农业与畜牧业现代化发展。他称，旁遮普省畜牧业潜力巨大，通过完善行业标准、升级加工设施，能够有效拉动出口增长。

他提到，省畜牧部门正在全省范围内设立疫病防控专区，保障畜禽健康，确保肉类及畜牧产品达到国际出口标准，尤其满足对华出口要求。

该部长还介绍，省政府正联合旁遮普农业肉类公司推进现代化熟肉加工厂建设，以此推动农产品深加工、扩大出口规模。

中国投资商表达了参与农业、畜牧业合资项目的意愿，双方一致同意深化技术、投资及产业发展领域合作，助力农业经济提质增效。

The Planning & Development Board, Government of Punjab and representatives of the Chinese Business Forum Friday discussed investment opportunities in livestock, agriculture and value-added food processing during a meeting held in Lahore.

The meeting, chaired by Punjab Minister for Livestock and Dairy Development Syed Ashiq Hussain Kirmani, focused on promoting bilateral cooperation, modern technology transfer, supply chain management and agricultural value addition.

Kirmani said the Punjab government is providing a favorable environment for foreign investors and taking practical steps to modernize the agriculture and livestock sectors. He said Punjab’s livestock industry has significant potential and can help boost exports through improved standards and processing facilities.

He said the Livestock Department is establishing disease control compartments across the province to ensure animal health and meet international, particularly Chinese, export standards for meat and other livestock products.

The minister also said work is underway on a modern boiled meat processing plant in collaboration with Punjab Agriculture and Meat Company (PAMCO) to support value addition and increase exports.

Chinese investors expressed interest in joint ventures in agriculture and livestock, while both sides agreed to enhance cooperation in technology, investment and industrial development to strengthen the agricultural economy.

5月18日至20日，2026年中国国际食品展（SIAL China） 在上海举办。巴基斯坦贸易发展局（TDAP）率领13家龙头企业组团参展，借此展示本国在全球食品行业日益增强的竞争力。

巴基斯坦参展企业带来了品类丰富的产品，包括大米、加工食品、饮品、喜马拉雅粉盐、乳制品、芝麻及其他农食产品，旨在进一步开拓全球最大食品进口市场之一的中国市场，扩大本国产品覆盖面。

官方声明表示，巴基斯坦此次参展，核心目标是巩固巴中贸易联系，向到场的中国采购商、进口商、经销商及食品企业推介本国优质农食产品。

中国长期是巴基斯坦最重要的贸易伙伴之一，也是巴农食产品的核心出口目的地。2025‑2026财年，巴基斯坦对华农食产品出口实现喜人增长，大米品类表现尤为突出。

巴基斯坦贸易发展局称，受市场需求攀升、对华准入条件改善利好，巴基斯坦对华大米出口大幅增长。仅2026年第一季度，巴对华大米出口额就突破4500万美元，彰显对华市场巨大的出口增长潜力。

该局乐观表示，借助2026上海SIAL展会，巴基斯坦企业有望斩获新的出口订单、建立长期商业合作关系、丰富对华出口品类。本次展会也为巴基斯坦优质食品搭建了优质展示平台，将进一步深化两国双边贸易合作。

Pakistan is showcasing its growing strength in the global food sector at SIAL China 2026, as the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) leads a delegation of 13 leading companies to the international food exhibition being held in Shanghai from May 18 to 20.

The Pakistani exhibitors are presenting a diverse range of products, including rice, processed foods, beverages, Himalayan pink salt, dairy products, sesame seeds, and other agri-food items, aiming to expand Pakistan’s footprint in one of the world’s largest food import markets.

According to an official statement, Pakistan’s participation is focused on strengthening trade ties with China while promoting the country’s premium-quality food and agricultural products to Chinese buyers, importers, distributors, and food companies attending the event.

China remains one of Pakistan’s largest trading partners and a key destination for Pakistani agri-food exports. During 2025-26, exports of Pakistani agricultural and food products to China witnessed encouraging growth, particularly in the rice sector.

TDAP noted that Pakistani rice exports to China recorded remarkable growth amid rising demand and improved market access. In the first quarter of 2026 alone, rice exports to China surpassed $45 million, highlighting strong potential for further expansion in the Chinese market.

The authority expressed optimism that participation in SIAL China 2026 will help Pakistani companies secure new export orders, build long-term business partnerships, and diversify exports to China. The exhibition also offers a valuable platform to showcase Pakistan’s high-quality food products and deepen bilateral trade cooperation between the two countries.

周五，中巴农业投资门户于巴基斯坦国家农业研究中心（NARC）召开首次项目进展会议，平台运行情况获得评审认可。与会官员对该平台的功能及后续开发工作进行核查，该平台旨在深化中巴双边农业投资合作。

本次会议由数字化转型与数据分析顾问雷蒙德·亚历山大·威廉主持，农业投资工作组相关人员参会。

该门户依托2026年1月19日中巴企业对企业农业投资洽谈会搭建，旨在优化农业领域的投资统筹、项目监管与数字化治理水平。

官方通报显示，该平台具备多项核心功能：可实时追踪洽谈会期间签署的谅解备忘录、数字化监控投资进度、提供人工智能辅助可行性分析报告，以及项目方案生成与评估系统。

The China-Pakistan Agriculture Investment Portal was reviewed satisfactorily during its first progress meeting held Friday at the National Agricultural Research Center (NARC), where officials examined the platform’s functionality and ongoing development aimed at strengthening bilateral agricultural investment cooperation between Pakistan and China.

The meeting was chaired by Digital Transformation and Analytics Consultant Raymond Alexander William and attended by members of the Agri-Investment Cell.

Developed in the context of the Pakistan-China B2B Agriculture Investment Conference held on January 19, 2026, the portal is intended to improve investment coordination, project monitoring and digital governance in the agriculture sector.

According to official statement, the platform includes real-time tracking of memorandums of understanding (MoUs) signed during the conference, digital monitoring of investment progress, AI-assisted feasibility reporting and a proposal creation and evaluation system.

The portal also provides investor matchmaking facilities, secure document-sharing modules and communication tools to enhance coordination among stakeholders.

Participants discussed the portal’s operational capacity and its expected role in streamlining agricultural investments, improving transparency and accelerating implementation of collaborative projects.

Officials said the initiative reflects Pakistan’s growing focus on digital transformation, smart agriculture and investment-driven development under Pakistan-China agricultural cooperation frameworks.

The portal is expected to support faster execution of joint agricultural ventures and strengthen institutional linkages between stakeholders from both countries.
