The grain planting area was 844.41 thousand hectares, an increase of 3.31 thousand hectares. Grain output reached 5.1438 million tons, an increase of 34,200 tons, or 0.7%. Of this, rice output was 3.9768 million tons, up 30,400 tons, or 0.8%.

Annual pork production reached 1.3398 million metric tons, down by 1.1%. Output of major poultry eggs stood at 750,300 metric tons, up by 8.5%. Milk production was 272,000 metric tons, an increase of 9.2%. At the end of the year, the hog inventory was 9.6001 million head, up 1.2% from the previous year. The annual number of hogs slaughtered was 16.5258 million head, a decrease of 2.5% from the previous year.
