代表处与老挝人民民主共和国农业与环境部洽谈交流,中老“农业环保合作”驶入快车道

On the morning of April 3, 2026, a delegation organized by the World Trade Point Federation (Switzerland) Chongqing Representative Office visited the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment of the Lao People's Democratic Republic. They held in-depth discussions with H.E. Kykeo SINGNAVONG, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment of Laos, and Mr. Khamseng Soutthalee, General Manager of the Lao National Agricultural and Sideline Products Distribution Center and International Logistics Co., Ltd. The two sides exchanged views on key topics including agricultural trade cooperation, agricultural industry support policies, optimization of import and export rules, market access for agricultural inputs, and wastewater treatment, reaching multiple important consensus.

The delegation was led by Wang Hongsheng, Chief Representative of the World Trade Point Federation (Switzerland) Chongqing Representative Office and Director of Chongqing Liangjiang International Economic Cooperation Center, together with Deputy Director Liu Xiang. Other members included Ye Jianhui, General Manager of Chongqing Zhongchenghuinong Technology Development (Group) Co., Ltd.; Liu Xia, General Manager of Chongqing Pinyang Investment Management Co., Ltd.; Gan Hongbo, Vice Chairman of Jiangxi Zhongke Jiesen Environmental Protection Technology Development Co., Ltd.; Lyu Siyang, Investment Banking Manager of Founder Securities Co., Ltd.; Wu Kaiming, General Manager of Kaisheng Automobile Transportation Co., Ltd. Fengxin County; and Lu Xiaozhun, General Manager of Chongqing Ermai Trading Co., Ltd., along with its Deputy General Manager Gan Binhui.

During the meeting, Deputy Minister Kykeo SINGNAVONG extended a warm welcome to the delegation. He noted that Laos is endowed with superior agricultural resources and is actively advancing agricultural modernization and an export-oriented development strategy. He welcomed Chinese enterprises to engage in deep cooperation in areas such as organic compound fertilizer supply, deep processing of agricultural products, international logistics and inspection & quarantine, and agricultural technology demonstration. Laos will continue to improve its foreign investment access policies and import-export facilitation measures, providing international partners with a stable, transparent, and efficient business environment.

Director Wang Hongsheng stated that the World Trade Point Federation has long been committed to promoting global trade facilitation. The Chongqing Representative Office will fully leverage its role as a bridge, guiding Chinese enterprises to precisely meet the market demands of Laos. He emphasized promoting project implementation in areas such as the export of agricultural inputs like compound fertilizers, cooperation on rice and sugar processing projects, connection of international logistics parks and inspection & quarantine platforms, and demonstrations of smart agriculture and eco-circular agriculture, so as to help deepen and strengthen Sino-Laos agricultural cooperation.

On the same day, the delegation visited a representative compound fertilizer production enterprise in Laos, conducting a detailed inspection of its production processes, raw material sources, production capacity, and market sales. The two sides held on-site discussions on technical standards, logistics routes, and cooperation models for exporting Chinese fertilizer products to Laos, laying a solid foundation for subsequent substantive trade and investment cooperation.

This visit serves as an important step for the World Trade Point Federation member delegation to deepen agricultural cooperation with ASEAN countries, further expanding the space for connecting the upstream and downstream of the agricultural industry chain between China and Laos. All parties agreed that in the future, broader and deeper cooperation can be carried out in areas such as fertilizer supply, agricultural demonstration base construction, optimization of cross-border logistics channels, mutual recognition of inspection and quarantine, and agricultural technology training, jointly supporting Laos in improving agricultural quality and efficiency while advancing the “going global” strategy of China's high-quality agricultural inputs steadily and far.
