巴基斯坦联邦海事部长朱奈德·安瓦尔·乔杜里周五表示，在本财年上半年（2025-26财年7月至12月），巴基斯坦对华渔业出口额突破1.49亿美元，占该国海产品出口总额的近60%。中国市场需求增长推动该领域整体强劲增长。

部长在评估渔业表现时指出，中国仍是巴基斯坦海产品最大出口目的地，反映出中国市场对冷冻鱼、虾类及其他附加值产品的持续需求。根据该部公布的官方数据，本财年前六个月渔业总出口额达2.53亿美元，出口量超12.2万吨，其中对华出口额约占该时期总收入的59%。

乔杜里表示，虾类出口额超4000万美元，墨鱼出口额为3600万美元，其中大部分货物流向中国。他补充说，国际市场特别是东亚地区对冷冻鱼的需求持续上升。泰国是中国之后巴基斯坦渔业产品的第二大进口国。

他指出，11月和12月出口额达到峰值，表明加工能力有所提升，市场准入条件改善。部长强调，渔业对巴基斯坦经济至关重要，为创造就业和赚取外汇作出贡献。加强与中国贸易联系，尤其是在区域和双边合作框架下，仍是扩大海产品出口的关键重点。

乔杜里表示，政府正着力提升质量标准、完善冷链基础设施并加强监管合规，以进一步促进对中国及其他主要市场的出口。

Pakistan’s fisheries exports to China surged past $149 million in the first half of the current fiscal year (July-December FY25-26), accounting for nearly 60% of the country’s total seafood exports, as rising Chinese demand drove strong overall growth in the sector, Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Junaid Anwar Chaudhry said on Friday.

Reviewing the performance of the fisheries sector, the minister said China remained Pakistan’s largest export destination for seafood, reflecting sustained demand for frozen fish, shrimp and other value-added products in the Chinese market.

Overall fisheries exports during the first six months of the fiscal year reached $253 million, with export volumes exceeding 122,000 metric tons, according to official figures shared by the ministry. Exports to China alone accounted for about 59% of total earnings during the period.

Chaudhry said exports of shrimp and prawns generated more than $40 million, while cuttlefish exports earned $36 million, with a significant share of these shipments destined for China. He added that demand for frozen fish continued to rise in international markets, particularly across East Asia.

Thailand ranked as the second-largest importer of Pakistani fisheries products after China, the minister said.

Exports peaked during November and December, indicating improved processing capacity and better market access, he added.

The minister said the fisheries sector plays a vital role in Pakistan’s economy, contributing to employment generation and foreign exchange earnings. He emphasized that strengthening trade ties with China, especially under regional and bilateral frameworks, remains a key priority for expanding seafood exports. 

Chaudhry said the government is working to improve quality standards, cold-chain infrastructure and regulatory compliance to further boost exports to China and other major markets.

中国机械设备工程股份有限公司（CMEC）周五在旁遮普省卡苏尔市卡苏里农场正式启动了中巴创新农业合作中心，这标志着巴中在现代科技驱动型农业合作方面取得重大里程碑。

该中心旨在推动前沿农业研究与技术转让，同时加强在智慧农业、生物技术、种子研发、机械化及气候适应型农业等领域的协作。中心还将通过结构化的农民培训项目、知识交流平台和应用研究计划，重点开展能力建设，以支持巴基斯坦全国的可持续粮食体系与农村发展。

CMEC集团的席艾伦向巴中网表示，该中心将促进联合研究出版、技术孵化，并为学生、科学家和企业家创造机遇，为粮食安全和经济韧性作出实质性贡献。他指出："该中心将成为学术界、产业界和农民之间的桥梁，确保创新成果抵达田间地头并转化为实际成效。"

此前，CMEC集团已在巴基斯坦启动了辣椒和芝麻的订单农业项目，旨在提高作物生产力、保障优质种子供应并引入现代耕作实践。这些项目重点为农民提供技术指导、投入品支持和有保障的市场渠道，帮助当地生产者融入区域及全球农业价值链。从这些订单农业实践中获得的经验，有望通过提供实用的田间洞察和可扩展的农业产业化发展模式，为新成立的中心工作提供补充。

China Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC) on Friday inaugurated the Pak–China Innovation Agriculture Cooperation Centre at Kasuri Farms in Kasur, Punjab, marking a major milestone in Pakistan–China cooperation in modern and technology-driven agriculture.

The centre is designed to promote cutting-edge agricultural research and technology transfer while strengthening collaboration in smart farming, biotechnology, seed development, mechanisation and climate-resilient agriculture. It will also focus on capacity building through structured farmer training programmes, knowledge exchange platforms and applied research initiatives, supporting sustainable food systems and rural development across Pakistan.

Speaking to Gwadar Pro, Alan Xi of the CMEC Group said the centre will encourage joint research publications, technology incubation and create opportunities for students, scientists and entrepreneurs, contributing meaningfully to food security and economic resilience.

“The centre will serve as a bridge between academia, industry and farmers, ensuring that innovation reaches the field and translates into real impact,” he noted.

Earlier, CMEC Group had also launched chili and sesame contract farming projects in Pakistan, aimed at improving crop productivity, ensuring quality seed supply and introducing modern farming practices. These projects focus on providing farmers with technical guidance, input support and assured market access, helping integrate local producers into regional and global agricultural value chains.

The experience gained from these contract farming initiatives is expected to complement the work of the newly established centre by offering practical, field-level insights and scalable models for agribusiness development.

Pakistan's digital connectivity landscape received a boost on Friday afternoon as Zong, a leading Chinese-backed telecom operator, signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with China's ZTE Corporation and Siccotel to expand affordable access to advanced smartphones and accelerate 5G readiness nationwide.

The partnership reflects deepening Pakistan–China technology cooperation, focusing on inclusive digital access and next-generation connectivity aligned with Pakistan's broader digital transformation goals.

Under the agreement, ZTE will introduce a wide range of entry-level, mid-tier, and high-performance 5G smartphones, including gaming-focused devices, catering to youth and tech-savvy consumers. The collaboration also includes Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) financing schemes to make advanced devices more affordable.

All devices will be bundled with Zong's data-centric packages, gaming, esports, and entertainment services, strengthening the operator's value proposition in a competitive market.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Zong's Head of Marketing Sajid Munir said the initiative aims to ensure that upcoming 5G technology is not limited to premium users. “By partnering with ZTE, we are enabling more Pakistanis to participate in the digital economy through affordable access to future-ready technology,” he said.

Industry observers see the agreement as another example of Chinese firms playing a central role in Pakistan's digital infrastructure ecosystem, complementing CPEC's broader focus on connectivity, innovation, and economic modernization.
