巴基斯坦阿尤布农业研究所(AARI)与中国陕西航天育种工程技术中心于7月20日签署合作意向书(CoC),双方将在农业科研、抗逆农作物培育、先进育种技术领域深化长期合作。
据阿尤布农业研究所消息,本次协议签署恰逢旁遮普省农业(研究)总干事、首席科学家萨吉德·乌尔·拉赫曼博士正式访华期间。访华过程中,他会见了陕西国际技术转移创新合作中心以及陕西航天育种工程技术中心相关代表。
萨吉德·乌尔·拉赫曼博士表示:“这份合作意向书,是深化中巴农业科研创新领域科学协作的重要里程碑。双方围绕抗逆作物品种、先进育种技术开展合作并进行经验交流,将助力推动农业可持续发展、保障粮食安全。”
该合作意向书搭建合作框架,合作范围涵盖农业科学研究、航天育种技术、种质资源交换、人才能力建设、技术转让以及联合科研项目。
会谈期间,双方探讨依托联合科研创新拓展科研伙伴关系,并研究加快现代农业技术落地应用的可行路径。
中方代表提出,愿意推动两国科研人员、种植农户、农业企业互访交流,促进知识共享、联合项目落地、技术转让与农业贸易发展。
阿尤布农业研究所发布声明称:“本次合作体现双方依托创新与国际合作发展农业科学的共同愿景。”研究所还表示,后续将扩大双向交流,落地惠及两国的各类联合项目。
“Pakistan’s Ayub Agricultural Research Institute (AARI) and China’s Shaanxi Aerospace Breeding Engineering Technology Center signed a Commitment of Cooperation (CoC) on July 20 to strengthen long-term collaboration in agricultural research, climate-resilient crop development and advanced breeding technologies.
The agreement was signed during the official visit of Punjab Director General/Chief Scientist Agriculture (Research) Dr. Sajid-ur-Rahman to China, where he met representatives of the Shaanxi International Technology Transfer and Innovation Cooperation Centre and the Shaanxi Aerospace Breeding Engineering Technology Center, as per AARI.
“The Commitment of Cooperation marks an important step toward strengthening scientific collaboration between Pakistan and China in agricultural research and innovation,” Dr. Sajid-ur-Rahman said. “By working together on climate-resilient crop varieties, advanced breeding technologies and knowledge exchange, we can contribute to sustainable agricultural development and improved food security.”
The CoC establishes a framework for cooperation in agricultural research, aerospace breeding technology, germplasm exchange, capacity building, technology transfer and joint research projects.
During the meetings, both sides discussed expanding scientific partnerships through collaborative research and innovation while exploring opportunities to accelerate the adoption of modern agricultural technologies.
Chinese representatives expressed their willingness to facilitate exchange visits involving scientists, farmers and agricultural companies from both countries to promote knowledge sharing, joint projects, technology transfer and agricultural trade.
“This cooperation reflects our shared commitment to advancing agricultural science through innovation and international partnership, according to AARI’s statement,” which added that it will expand exchanges and implementing joint initiatives that will benefit both countries.”
