Prof. Ningbo Cui obtained a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Agricultural Water Conservancy Engineering from Northwest A&F University in June 2004 and a Doctor of Engineering degree in Agricultural Soil and Water Engineering from the same university in June 2009. Since July 2009, he has been working at the College of Water Resources and Hydropower Engineering, Sichuan University, where he was promoted to Associate Professor in July 2014, appointed as Master’s Supervisor in 2015, exceptionally promoted to Doctoral Supervisor in 2017, and exceptionally promoted to Professor in 2018. His long-term research focuses on the principles and technologies of irrigation and drainage, as well as the theories and technologies of optimal water resources allocation, with core research directions including green and efficient agricultural water use and optimal allocation of water resources in irrigation districts, water-saving and quality-improving irrigation theories and technologies, principles and technologies of precise regulation and control of smart water and fertilizer at large regional scales, remote sensing-based ET management, and theories and technologies of irrigation district modernization.
