这个月有一半的素材都是国才杯的考题。这次大赛口译组的题目几乎涵盖了近几年所有热点话题：银发经济、科技赋农、智慧交通、户外运动、消费体验旅游、短剧、潮玩、基建、中外文化交流、中国科技（南极秦岭站、中国航天）。一方面考验我们对背景知识的掌握，另一方面考查我们的脱壳能力，因为会出现很多网络梗和流行词（如鸡排哥的出圈、热播剧《长安的荔枝》、电子榨菜、谷子经济）。这么看来，平时还是要多吃瓜，什么领域的热搜都要去凑凑热闹。CATTI考试虽然不会考这么活的内容，但是大致方向还是一致的，比方说科技、消费、文旅等等。完整比赛考题音频时长44分26秒（不含选手作答的时间）。建议大家分2-3次来完成。

Speaking of smart agriculture, I also want to share a true story I read about that happened in Henan, China, the summer. It's really eye opening. In a county there, the cornfields were in really bad shape, leaves curled and turned yellow, and the plants were over a meter shorter than healthy ones at this stage. But here's the silver lining, farmers fought back with tech. They launched their fourth round of irrigation using black pipes that deliver water and nutrients directly to roots controlled by smart terminals. It's a game changer, truly. They're leaving no stone unturned to secure a stable autumn harvest. There are examples of coping with droughts and desertification with high tech in other countries as well. Morocco, where over 65% of land is desert, promotes drip irrigation and uses solar energy to desalinate saltwater for crops, boosting yields by 1.5 times. Spain has developed a real-time drought early warning system, leveraging satellite data and weather stations to monitor moisture loss since 1961, with its recycled water usage jumping from 4% to 17.5% since 2019. Turkmenistan, 80% of its land covered by desert, adopts advanced water management systems and uses donated photovoltaic equipment to track desert plant growth and sand fixation effect. Based with climate change, technology is playing an increasingly pivotal role in the intelligent utilization of limited water resources for combating droughts and desertification. And the value of mutual learning among nations has become all the more valuable.
